Harakka Artists’ House houses 30 studios for professional artists and artisans. It was built on Harakka island as a chemical testing facility for the military in 1929 and is now owned by The City of Helsinki since 1989. The artists’ association Harakka ry organizes exhibitions and other art events on the island.

We do not recommend the island for people with impaired mobility. The Harakka Island ferry and the Harakka Artists’ House are not accessible by wheelchair, and visitors on the nature trail move in difficult terrain.
