The artist run colour darkroom cooperative Värinä, founded in 2000, runs the only analogue colour darkroom in Finland where artists can print their own, high quality C-type prints. During the more than 20 years Värinä has been active, the cooperative has developed and expanded its activities and is today an important player in the Finnish photo art scene.

The aim of Värinä is to secure the working conditions of its members and to support their professional development. Värinä sees it as its duty to maintain the analogue darkroom knowledge and to pass it on to the next generation of imagemakers. Today, Värinä also maintains a digital workspace. In Värinä’s premises you can work both as a member or as a guest.
