(IM)POSSIBLE DIALOGUE complies a two year research into the impossibility of a human-nonhuman language. Through an attempted collaboration between the artist and the object, hän, Loukola uses the notion of performativity to dive into a world of repetition as a means to find communication.
Through this process of performing, re-performing and recreating, she is attempting to create a language through these acts, one where both poetry and painting function as sentences investigating the interaction between the human and the non-human.
Eliisa Loukola (b. Finland, 1997) is an artist working with language and found objects to investigate traces, (dis)appearances and embodied memories. She relies on writing as methodology, and finds freedom in disregarding grammar, especially while discussing authorship and collaboration with the non-human. She deals with (re)translation and language (co)creation through the notion of reperformance in an attempt to hold dialogue with hän, her current collaborator.
