3.-4.2.
Performance about dog, human being and love between species.
The performance examines a human and a dog getting to know each other; a home becoming a dog’s home too, a person becoming a dog person, a person learning to take care of a dog and time going by.
The performance is unbearably aware of the fact that pets always are, even in the best case scenario, people’s property and under their authority. Animals have absolute value (e.g. Aaltola, Derrida), they are individuals, with their own lives and have species-specific needs and desires. For pets, this species-specificness can be difficult to achieve, as it is the human that decides on the content and course of the pet’s life.
The piece is a tribute for a dog and is based on Storm’s poetry collection Silittäisinkö häntä vähän (Aviador 2023).

Hanna Storm is a Turku-based poet and performer who has examined outsiderness, lonelyness and choice making in her art. Her debut collection kutsun itseni kylään (Aviador 2018) examines composing one’s identity, urban space and youth, while in her second collection Kanootin säilyttämisestä talven yli (Aviador 2020) the themes of childhood, future global threats and changes in nature are explored through the relationship of father and child. Storm’s third collecton Silittäisinkö häntä vähän (Aviador 2023) reflects on love, relations of human and dog and non normative family.
