Come and explore various handicraft techniques under the direction of the Softy exhibition’s artists.
In Jonna Karanka’s workshop, you will learn how to make ryijy knots. Traditional techniques will be combined with a collage-like style. Materials include various acrylic and natural yarns, ribbons, sequins, and beads.
Jonna Karanka (b. 1978) is a visual artist who combines traditional ryijy knots with unorthodox yarn techniques and material-based experiential entities. Tapestries, ryijys, and textile collages are created by knotting, weaving, tufting, and sewing.
Price: €35 / person / workshop
The workshops are directed at adults and young people ages 16 and up. No earlier experience in handicraft techniques is required. An exhibition tour is not included in the workshop.
