phantasma is a joint exhibition by Elina Nissinen & Iida Nissinen at MAA-tila project space 2.-19.3.2023. 
Sound work for the exhibition by sound artist Jussi Hertz.
Opening on Wednesday 1.3. at 18–21.

Bio

Elina Nissinen (b. 1991) is a visual artist working with clay and paint but also with other materials, people, and spaces. They are fascinated by questions on relationalities, narrativity, and meaning-making, as well as the overlap of intersectional approach with the matter(s) and manifestations of magic. 

Iida Nissinen (b. 1991) is a multidisciplinary artist and curator. 
Currently Nissinen studies avatars, doppelgängers and eco-gothic sensualities. They work with a variety of materials, elements and situations from text, bioplastics, and ceramics to bodies and social compositions.

Nissinens share but a life lived side by side, also an interest in vibrant materiality, magic in the mundane, and the agencies of the invisible world at large. Phantasma is their first joint exhibition as a duo.

The project is kindly supported by the Paulo Foundation and the Arts Promotion Centre Finland.

Saavutettavuustiedot:
– MAA-tila on 350 metrin päässä Sörnäisten metroasemalta, sekä 250 metrin päässä linja-autojen 2409, 2413 & 2411 pysäkistä.
– Gallerian edessä on 2. vyöhykkeen pysäköintiruutuja.
– MAA-tila on katutasossa. Sisään tullessa kynnys on enimmillään 6 cm korkea, ja ovi on 77 cm leveä. WC:ssä on 2 cm korkuinen kynnys, mutta se ei ole tarpeeksi tilava, jotta saavutettavuuskriteerit täyttyisivät. Lähin esteetön WC on 50 metrin päässä, Sörkän Ruusu ravintolassa, mutta heidän ramppinsa on saatavilla vain pyynnöstä ja ravintolan aukioloaikoina.

Accessibility Information:
MAA-tila project space is located 350m from Sörnainen metro station & 250m from bus stops 2409, 2413 & 2411. There is Zone 2 on-street parking directly outside the gallery.The entrance to MAA-tila project space is on street level with thresholds of up to 6cm at the entrance, and a door width of 77cm. The toilet has a 2cm threshold but is not spacious enough to meet accessibility standards. The nearest accessible toilet is located 50m away at Sörkan Ruusu, however, their ramp is only available on request, and during opening hours.
