Art collective Photofuss approaches the various undersides of everyday life, pondering both darkness and illumination in this versatile group exhibition.

Our exhibition was formed through intimate collaboration. We discussed freedom, opposites, the complex relationships of human/natural/digital worlds, and the myriad sensations arising from consciousness.

Included in the exhibition are works from the members of the collective: Oona Aleksia, Lotta BöhmIines LahtiNova LindahlMaija Lindström, Sohvi ManninenEmilia MäenpääJoona MöttöOona PohjolainenLuukas PollariEmilia Sumi, Elle Sumelius, Rita Topaloglou, Matias Uusinoka, and group coordinator Milja Laakso. Gallery assistance was also provided by our member Tuukka Jaromaa.

Special thanks for the support and inspiration to Sergei PavlovHelen Korpak, and the Finnish Darkroom Association.

Photofuss is the Finnish Museum of Photography’s in-house collective of young artists. The group was formed to provide rising talents the opportunity to carry out photocultural phenomena through collaborative artistry. Their activities are based in experimentation and exploration, guided by collective conceptions, ideas, and interests. Photofuss designs, curates, and produces its own exhibitions. The group comes together for one year at a time, and open applications to join are solicited through the FMP each autumn.

This exhibition was produced in cooperation with the Finnish Museum of Photography. All images and texts produced by Photofuss 2022
