Friends of my life | 9.9 – 28.9.2023

Friendship is a multifaceted dimension, just like life.

A year ago I decided to start making an exhibition called ‘Friends of my life’. The more I progressed in that topic, I started thinking about how to become or become my friend, and the answer is that I don’t know. 

Different characters will be seen in the exhibition. All figures made of glass are different in shape, color and essence just like my friends. 

This has been a very interesting topic for me: how I myself see my friends.

Although making art is a lot of work alone, I have had invaluable help from my friends, which makes this particular exhibition even more important.

The idea for that theme came from one of my friends a few years ago. I decided that I want to make an exhibition and in that way thank him for our friendship and in the same way all my other friends. The glass figurines paint a picture of how great and cool friends I have.

I live and work in Nuutajärvi. I am a glassblower and for me in art, form language, colors and textures are important. As an artist, I seek inspiration from anything: it can be a feeling, a metaphor, a person, a memory, a dream or a wish.
