Tiia Kasurinen: SURFACE
SURFACE is a dance performance, a crooked fairytale and an antithesis of children’s stories; a humoristic yet harrowing perspective on existing under the gaze.
SURFACE is a dance piece inspired by mermaids, the Internet, femininity, liminal spaces and the sea as a thematic landscape.
The centre of the show is a mermaid-inspired character – detached from old stories, set in the 2020s Kasurinen performs the work as a solo – supported by light, sound, video, costuming and staging.
