All the water on Earth has been here always, for 4,5 billion years. Water connects everything: people to people and to other living and non-living creatures.

Water Concert is a collaboration between sound artists Juha Valkeapää and Juhani Liimatainen and lighting and video artist Pietu Pietiäinen, with the following starting point: Everything is water and from water.

In Water Concert, we play water with our bodies, electronics, gong and various found objects. We bubble and make crooked rhythms and loops. We don’t tell stories about water. We imagine, dream and listen, with water. Water Concert is a hymn for water, the foundation of all life.

Juha Valkeapää is a vocal artist and performance maker. Juhani Liimatainen is a vocal artist, sound designer and Professor Emeritus in sound design. Pietu Pietiäinen is a light and video artist-designer.
