Suhina Klubi serves as a platform for improvised and experimental music and sound art within Helsinki. During the year 2024, improvised music ensembles will be heard in concerts held at the Myymälä2 gallery.

the 3rd concert of 2024 presents German based ensemble Ephemeral Fragments

Emily Wittbrodt – Cello
Florian Walter – Tubax
Korhan Erel – Electronics

Ephemeral Fragments is an electro-acoustic improvisation trio based in Essen, Cologne and Berlin. Following their meeting at an ad hoc concert in 2019, Florian Walter, Emily Wittbrodt and Korhan Erel decided to build up on the common language they created during their first concert and embarked on a period of rehearsals, concerts and recording sessions throughout 2020.
The three musicians, who are successfully and internationally active in multidisciplinary projects, contribute to the total sound by interpreting the potentials of their individual “home” genres, but without confining themselves in their respective borders. Their music is characterized by an enormous density of textures and depth in sound without wandering too far away from a solid
sense of control and reduction.

Ephemeral fragments released their first album in 2022 on Umland Records. The album has
been picked for the album of the month (February 2022) by The Attic Magazine and has been reviewed in the “Neue Musikzeitung“. The trio also developed a soundtrack for the theatre production „Post Paradise“ at Theatre Bremen in 2021.
