The Sibelius Academy’s spring Lied recital presents soprano Hannele Ahola and pianist Kiryl Bartashevich. The programme features compositions by Rachmaninov, Duparc, Kilpinen, M. Linjama, and Brahms.

Hannele Ahola recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Vocal Arts from the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki. She has achieved success in several international singing competitions, including the Wilhelm Stenhammar Competition, the Hjördis Schymberg Award, and the Toivo Kuula Competition. In spring 2025, she appeared as a soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 under the baton of Sakari Oramo at the Helsinki Music Centre. Ahola performs actively in Finland and has recently appeared in Latvia and Italy. On the opera stage, she has appeared in Sibelius Academy Opera productions, including the roles of Marcellina (Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro) and Poppea (Monteverdi: L’incoronazione di Poppea). Ahola also has a background as a classical pianist.

Pianist Kiryl Bartashevich (b. 2004, Belarus) studied at the Republican Gymnasium-College of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, graduating in 2022. He is currently pursuing his studies at the Sibelius Academy under Kirill Kozlovsky and Tuija Hakkila, and gave his Bachelor’s recital in April 2025. He made his orchestral debut at the age of 12, performing the first movement of Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Belarus. Bartashevich has performed extensively across Europe as a soloist, chamber musician, and Lied pianist. He is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions.

On the day of the concert, the museum doors will open 15 minutes before the performance. Free entry.
