Hungry to connect with fellow language learners and curious about collaging and creative writing? Please join Paola Jalili and Hanan Mahbouba for a series of workshops taking place this fall!
CUT/PASTE/DRAFT are writing and collaging workshops exploring language, immigration, & belonging.
The workshops are designed for people learning Swedish (and other languages) as a space to practice the language, meet fellow language learners, and create artworks that express this experience through words and images.
Immigration and the subsequent process of learning a new language and building a life in a new country can be overwhelming, draining, and anxiety-inducing. These workshops are designed as alternative spaces where these challenging topics can be addressed collectively, and where playful and creative activities like writing and collaging can be tools of self expression and confidence.
The first session will take place on October 17th with the theme of “Food as a Memory Portal.”
The workshop is free of charge and will take place from 11-16 at Koekeittiö, including a break for lunch that we will provide. In order to participate, please fill out the registration link in bio by October 15th. The workshop can host up to 15 participants.
Save the date for Workshops 2 & 3 on Nov 28 & 29. Feel free to join us for just one or all three!
CUT/PASTE/DRAFT is co-organised by Paola Jalili, Hanan Mahbouba, and Feminist Culture House, and takes place at Koekeittiö. The project is supported by the Swedish Cultural Foundation.
