Shoulder pads and puffy hairstyles. A shiny life and stylishness. But also nuclear weapons, grey men in sports jackets and structural reform.

What was Helsinki like in the 1980s, and how did things look back then? Minna Sarantola-Weiss, the author of the book Me halusimme kaiken. 1980-luvun historiaa (‘We Wanted It All. History from the 1980s’), published this autumn, will be reminiscing about those days together with the graphic designer of the book, Marja-Leena Muukka. The conversation will be led by 1980s legend, journalist Jyrki Jantunen, also known as Njassa. The audience will be welcome to take part in the conversation as well, and the author will be signing books afterwards.

The event will be held in Finnish, free entry.
