Warm welcome to the opening on 3.9. (Thu) 16:00-19:00, in Galleria Kuu-si!

The exhibition brings into dialogue the work of artists Nóra Somos and Alexi Hauru, exploring the contingency of subjects in a landscape.

When two bodies touch, a line forms where they meet. Where two lines meet, an infinite regress. The impossibility of an occurrence in space.

In both Somos’ and Hauru’s works, beings co-emerge and mingle with each other. Distinction and dissolution are no longer clear terms, and yet through this entanglement, worlds within spaces come to life. The conflict between defined boundaries and fluid integration begs the question: from which vantage point should people and places be seen?

ALEXI HAURU is an artist based in Helsinki, Finland working with drawing, painting and printmaking. Hauru uses formal grid like structures alongside organic, animistic depictions of landscapes. Her works describe the dualism of clarity and chaos found in relationships between the modern person and their encounters with nature.
