Antti-Ville Reinikainen (b. 1980) lives and works in Helsinki. He graduated as a visual artist from the Lahti Art Institute in 2005 and from the Master’s programme in Fine Arts from the University of Art and Design in 2007. Reinikainen works with, among other things, wood and cast materials in his sculptures using multi-stage handicraft methods. He also uses moving images and painting techniques in his works. In the imagery of the works, often recognizable things, such as vehicles and furniture, combine, split and transform into other, sometimes even completely abstract structures. The familiar and safe are often mixed with absurd images of threat. His works are in both domestic and foreign art collections. The exhibition at the Forum Box Gallery is his 22nd solo exhibition.
