Art Workshop with Liisa Kallio: Inhabitants of the Winter Garden

In this workshop, participants will create their own imaginary creatures with black liquid ink and study the creatures in various ways. Drama will be created with lights and shadows, background music, or perhaps by reflecting the creatures on the screen in a larger size.

Liisa Kallio (b. 1968) is a Helsinki-based awarded freelance illustrator, author, and graphic designer. Kallio has published over 20 children’s books, and she has illustrated numerous texts by other authors. In her work, she uses various styles and techniques, from charcoal drawing to digital creation. The connection between image-making and music fascinates Kallio, and she performs live drawings at concerts.
