What colour is blueberry? What does yellow taste like?

Babies Play with Colour is designed for adults and children (4–11 months) to spend time together. It is based on play and interaction with the child’s terms. New materials are introduced by feeling, listening, smelling, and tasting. The materials used are varied, such as fabrics, feathers, and fruit purées, in different colour themes. The colour theme explored in the workshop changes every week.

The workshop lasts around 1,5 hours and includes a visit to the museum exhibition.

One adult and one child share a ticket for the same price. You can also purchase a workshop ticket for an additional accompanying adult when buying the baby & adult ticket in the online shop.

The workshop’s language is Finnish but all the workshop guides can also give instructions in English.

Note. Paid tickets will not be exchanged or refunded. The ticket is not personal and can be given to someone else in case of an obstacle.

Purchase your ticket in good time from the online shop. Ticket sales close 21 hours before the workshop to allow for preparation tailored to the group’s needs.

In the online store, only the available time slots are visible.

The workshop is designed for the needs of infants and young children. There will be plenty of breaks for feeding, changing diapers, etc.

Kindly note that the museum opens at 10 a.m. Please park your pram or stroller in the pram space under the ramp in the ground-floor lobby. Prams cannot be parked in the workshop for safety reasons. You may bring your baby carrier to make it easy to walk through the museum with your baby. Baby carriers can also be borrowed from the Kiasma cloakroom. You may bring to the workshop any items you need to look after your baby.  You can leave outerwear and other items in the lockers or the cloakroom on museum’s first floor.

At the beginning of the workshop, participants visit a few artworks in the exhibition to engage the child’s senses before continuing with activities in the Paja space. In this workshop, you and your baby are encouraged to explore colours boldly by experimenting with them. Wear clothes that can get dirty and bring an extra set of clothes and a towel with you. The work area has a water point where you can wash after the workshop. Care pads have been reserved for changing the diaper. Protective jackets are available for adults.

All products used in the workshop are plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free and suitable for babies. If you have any further questions about our products, please contact paja@kiasma.fi.
