The Crush[ing] – meeting place is an intergenerational space for queer and trans people to meet. Encounters take place every other month. These events are free. The meeting place invites one to leisure, encounter and discussion. The event follows the principles of safer spaces. The place has a capacity of 50 people. RSVP. ART FOR QUEER SENIORS-project is a one year long art project that collaborates with Sateenkaariseniorit ry. The project aims to create a sense of community and belonging for queer and trans seniors through art workshops, home visits, inter generational meetups and performing activities. The outcome of the project, Crush[ing], happens in April 2024. The project has been planned and implemented by queer artists together with the participants.

The project is coordinated by the Reality Research Center and is funded by the City of Helsinki.

Art for Queer Seniors-project is a continuation of the Queer Dance Group initiated by Eevi Tolvanen[they|them], with the Reality Research Centre as its platform. The project is led by Tolvanen in close dialog with director Minna Lund[she|they] and sound artist Ava Grayson[they|them].
