The next exhibition in the larger gallery will contain recent works by internationally renowned artist Maria Taniguchi (the Philippines, 1981, lives in Manila) and emergent Finnish artist  Emilia Tanner (1990, lives in Helsinki).

Taniguchi’s paintings in acrylic on canvas are variations of one of her constant themes, a black brick wall. Similar paintings will be on display in ‘Stranieri Ovunque/Foreigners Everywhere’, the main international exhibition (curated by Adriano Pedrosa) of the 60th Venice Biennale opening on 20 April.

Collaboration with the gallery carlier | gebauer in Berlin.

Tanner’s work is based on different ways to challenge the integrity and durability of white paper, such as exposing it to strong light (including sunlight and laser beams) or piercing it with sharp tools.

She gradated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki in 2021 and was recently awarded the Ducat Prize for Young Artists by the Finnish Art Society.
