The exhibition that flirts with the aesthetics of a beauty salon or a spa is open daily for the audience to visit during the event. Additionally demonstrative live performances will be held at announced times. Soaps, brushes and other beauty care items that touch our bodies in everyday life have inspired Geumhyung Jeong to create this artwork.
Geumhyung Jeong is a Korean choreographer and performance artist, whose artworks deal with the relationship between human body and objects. Interaction between her own body and the objects wakes them eerily to life. Resembling visual arts, dance, puppetry and animated films, the artworks make the borderline between human and object tremble.
Geumhyung Jeong studied theatre and acting in Hoseon university in Asan, dance and performance at the Korean National University of Arts, and animation at the Korean Academy of Film Arts in Seoul. This summer her works are presented at the Venice Biennale, Leeum Museum of Art, Kunsthal Charlottenborg and Impulstanz festival.
