Lehtolaulu is a multidisciplinary production by the KATOAVA collective, created and performed at Vapaan Taiteen Tila.

Did you know that the word “hiisi” originally referred to sacred groves in the cultures of the Finnic peoples, where rituals were held and loved ones were buried? Lehtolaulu takes you to hiisi—we explore groves, the journey there, and our own relationships with the mythologies of forests. This multidisciplinary piece invites reflection and emotional connection. The performance also offers a unique audience experience: Teemaa tea will be served, and you are welcome to settle in comfortably around the stage and take a moment to unwind.

Premiere: June 11 at 7 PM
Performance: June 12 at 7 PM
Duration: approx. 40 minutes
Tickets can be reserved here.

KATOAVA collective is a platform for young artists working in environmental art. We work collectively and across disciplines, following our individual artistic interests. Lehtolaulu has been supported by the Taiteen edistämiskeskus and the City of Helsinki.
