The first impulse for this exhibition arose after reading Anna Tsing’s
essay “Unruly Edges:
Mushrooms as Companion Species.”

The exhibition consists of a film, Domestication Gone Wild, and an
installation titled Fantasy and Failure. Anna Tsing begins her essay
with the words:

“Domination, domestication, and love are deeply entangled. Home is
where dependencies within and among species reach their most
stifling.”

“I would like to share a little of my process with people who are
curious about these intersections… Both those who mingle with more
than humans and those who definitely don’t. Maria Villa Largacha who
always has so good questions will also be discussing with us.”
