“The interdisciplinary exhibition From Sea to Sea opens to the public on Thursday, 17 September 2026, at Vapaan Taiteen Tila, Helsinki, with the generous support of the Sibelius Academy Foundation and Studio con Finestra.

There is a sound that precedes memory.

An imperceptible threshold where hearing transforms into vision and matter becomes memory. The sea never falls silent: it brings back to the surface what we thought had been submerged — an echo, a shadow, a resonance belonging to a distant time.

From Sea to Sea emerges from this liminal space, where sound composition and visual research meet and intertwine through performance, acoustic and electronic music, video art, postcards, snapshots and painting.

The exhibition creates an immersive space where sound, image and matter enter into relation, becoming a shared sensory experience.”
