Hintz investigates the relationships between shape, color and color forms. The upcoming exhibition features paintings with sculpted edges. The outlines often resemble common objects, for example a kite or a surfboard. The shaped edge perhaps emphasizes the physicality of the painting and changes the relationship of the work to the surrounding space because the work is not only on the surface of the picture. The painting creates influences and associations from design, literature and music or rhythm. Rhythm acts as a mediator between the inner and the outer, public world. The painting is neither completely private nor public, but a vibrating contact surface between the two. A pattern is a language that provides a commonbasis. In a way, the painting creates a basis for its own starting point. Although the images are completely still, the painting is an illusion in constant motion. A landscape created from abstract shapes and colors.
