when licking, it’s ending is a collaborative exhibition by Milla Aska and Katariina Yli-Malmi. The exhibition explores the theme of desire – what there is when only tides of lust rush in. Lust fills screens, streets and bedrooms, shopping malls and minds too. But so are forests, “freedom”, and plans of escaping described best through nothing less than desire for something else..
, coming , fast , whose , on top , etc.
All gets stripped then reclothed once more. Lust is all the world puts out but void, and all that desires to leave desire is just desire once more, in another form. Capitalism is a windmill of lust, but could “some other” structure rotate on another kind of fluctuation?
If desire is the zeitgeist, and it has been nothing else in centuries – even Dionysian rings archaic, rotting – thus is anti-desire just the same as desire. When one finds nothing but lust, there is no more left to do but to ask
how far on “escaping”, with or without, how many times, when ending, which way, sideways, a flight, sweating or after the shower, in the night and in the morning, again … ?
