When working Minna Sjöholm ponders the meaning and vanity of things, the physical and mental scale, the interface between beauty and ugliness, the loneliness and the peace, the hurry and the unseen. She paints by reducing and abstracting the details and uses light to emphasize objects and freeze time at random moments.

Minna Sjöholm (b. 1971 in Imatra) graduated from Kankaanpää Art School in 1999 and has exhibited in solo shows and participated in group exhibitions since she graduated. Her works are included in the collections of the Espoo, Vantaa, Helsinki and Oulu Art Museums and the Wäinö Aaltonen Museum. She lives and works in Turku.
