Bárbmu is a southern place where, according to Sámi oral tradition, migratory birds fly to spend the winter. In the Ivdnás bárbmolottit – Colorful Migratory Birds workshop, children and adults can craft, color, and decorate birds that fly to Bárbmu and return from there. The birds are adorned with colorful fringes, introducing participants to a small part of Sámi handicraft techniques, known as duodji.
The art workshop is led by Sámi artisan Reetta Tornensis.
Languages: Northern Sámi, Finnish, English.
You can visit the non-stop workshop at any time. For all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults can also participate in the workshop without a child.
Included in the museum admission fee (0–20 €).
