The curtain opens as it has done before. In the spotlight I shine and I am free! After the show, my body fills with feelings of otherness and loneliness. As a queer woman the experience of womanhood is freeing and isolating simultaneously.

What is left of womanhood when you don’t perform it for the male gaze?
