Performances by Uniarts students during Vapaan taiteen tila’s pop up program week!

Vapaan taiteen tila’s pop up program, part of the City of Helsinki’s Kallio Summer Streets project, will take place from July 28 to August 3, 2025. The event stage in Karhupuisto and its surroundings will be filled with performances by Uniarts students — expect street theatre, dance, and music!

On the event stage, you can catch HUIPPU, a folk music band playing with intense passion and youthful energy. Also performing is Raja-Jooseppi Orkesteri, known for their original compositions and a brass section that gives this ten-piece band an almost orchestral sound.

In the street space, you’ll find The Moving Chandelier, a sparkling dance piece about presence, absence, and transformation. Providing a contrasting tone is Takatalvi, a cold and strange street theatre performance by Eemeli Väisänen and Inari Kolehmainen, inspired by Tove Jansson’s The Spring Tune and Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away.
