SIC Gallery is pleased to present Pillows Were Soft by Sallamari Rantala (FI) and Marta Fréjuté (LT) from 5.–15.6.2025 at Satamakatu 3 A 10, 00160 Helsinki.

The exhibition is a continuation of the artists’ collaborative exhibition It Used to Be a Castle, which was on display at Editorial Gallery in Vilnius in 2025.

Rantala and Fréjutés curious gaze and imagination draw connections through matter and concepts, raising questions about the human relationship to material, history, and time.

In the exhibition space, the artists have been interested in the representation of home as well as transformation of materials, environments and buildings and exploring their intended use.

The works in the exhibition form a site-specific entity placed in a domestic context becoming part of a simultaneously private and semi-public environment.

The exhibition opens on 5th of June and is open until 15th of June 2025.

Thu–Fri 14–18 and Sat–Sun 12-16

Vernissage on Thursday 5th June at 2-6 pm

Warmly welcome!

Please note that Pillows Were Soft happens off-site. At SIC Gallery, Malmi old station, exhibition Nordic Noir open until 15th of June.
