Welcome to the fourth lecture of the Spring 2026 series!

“Working from Home” at 10-11.30 on Zoom (request link via info@taidekoulumaa.fi) The lecture Working from Home brings together past and ongoing works that examine the idea of ‘home’ as both a physical space and a conceptual framework within the artist’s practice. The talk reflects on how working from home – both literally and metaphorically opens up possibilities for autobiographical and personal works, where the boundaries between life and work, private and public, origin and displacement, begin to blur. In doing so, it proposes home not simply as a backdrop, but as an active collaborator in the making of art.

Karl Ohiri is a British-Nigerian visual artist and archival activist based in Helsinki. His conceptually driven practice focuses on the human condition and lived experience, exploring recurring themes related to social issues, relationships, identity and belonging, and cultural heritage. Alongside his personal practice, he is the initiator and co-guardian of the Lagos Studio Archives project.
