Anachronism, Schizophrenia, and the Speed of Light and Soundreflects the interplay of divergent experiences, temporal disjunctions, and the nuanced exploration of fear, identity, and neurodiversity in a performative context, set in real and speculative spaces such as outer-space and in mines; by drawing on schizophrenia as a methodology.
The aim of the work is to reduce stigma. It approaches the realities, lived experiences and stories of people variously identified as mad, ‘voices heard’, neurotypical and/or disabled through shame, within a socio-historical context.
The work is composed of video, poetry, comedy, sketch theatre, mythological references, aesthetic myths and live performances.
Anachronism, Schizophrenia, and the Speed of Light and Sound is a co-production of Mad House Helsinki and Reality Research Center. The work will premiere in May 2025.
