A durational performance offers an encounter for one person at a time.
Free Personal Attention is a one-on-one participatory performance inspired by ASMR, where a participant receives personalized attention from the artist, creating a relaxed and intimate experience. The performance explores themes of social relationships, consent, and the desire for connection in contemporary society, using the calming effects of ASMR to blur the lines between public and private interactions. It aims to address the often-unspoken yearning for human bonding and intimacy.
Instructions
Please come to Kiasma Theatre’s foyer (ground floor, Northern end of the building) and wait by a sign. The artist will come and pick you when it’s your turn. The duration of the encounter is approx. 20min. No pre-registration.
Chih-Tung Lin
Chih-Tung Lin (they/them) is a freelance curator and artist based in Helsinki, Finland, originally from Taiwan. With a background in psychology and an MFA from the Praxis Exhibition Studies Program at the University of the Arts Helsinki, Lin approaches their practice through an interdisciplinary lens. Their work embraces playfulness and fluidity, frequently blurring the boundaries between curating and art-making. Engaging with a range of methods—including curation, performance, exhibition-making, and publishing—Lin intentionally resists confinement to a single medium. At the core of their practice are narratives surrounding social relations and societal roles, often examined through a psychological perspective.
