Aili Järvelä, one of Finland’s most compelling contemporary music makers, has impressed both audiences and critics with her wide-ranging talent. Known for her strong roots in folk music, she has above all distinguished herself as a gifted singer-songwriter, composer, and soulful performer. Over the course of her career, Järvelä has released solo albums; composed music for professional orchestras, big bands, choirs, and various instrumental ensembles; written a musical; worked as a freelance musician in numerous groups; and performed in several award-winning folk music ensembles.
Järvelä’s 2020 song Roihuvuori was selected by readers of Helsingin Sanomat as one of the 50 best Finnish lyrics of the millennium. Her first musical, Katrina (2024), received glowing reviews and enthusiastic audience acclaim. Her latest solo album, Vuori (2025), has been widely praised; journalist Pekka Laine has named it among the year’s most significant Finnish releases.
At the Kirpilä concert, Järvelä’s music will be performed with guitarist Sigurdur Rögnvaldsson accompanying her. Rögnvaldsson is an Icelandic guitarist, composer, and producer based in Helsinki, whose work moves fluidly between jazz, contemporary music, and free improvisation.
Registration for the concert opens onKirpilä Art Collection’s website on 12 March 2026.
The concert has 45 seats, 35 of which can be reserved online. The remaining seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the concert.
