Asiya Wadud

echo exhibit is a one-on-one conversation between the poet Asiya Wadudi and the participant. The work takes place next to Howard Smith’s environmental art piece “Moveless dancers” in Helsinki’s Arabia. After each conversation, Wadud writes a poem inspired by the encounter. These poems will be published in Mad House Publication Vol. 5 in December 2024.

Asiya Wadud is a writer who divides her time between New York and Helsinki. He is interested in the borders and edges of language and landscape. He thinks about ways to approach what he sees, feels and senses with questions instead of answers. He wants to know about spaces where language is bent and where gaps are not filled.
