Sirkka Tälli
A drag artist known across Finland, Sirkka “Sirkkis” Tälli is remembered from programmes such as Punainen planeetta and Ekoisti. At EMMA, Sirkka takes the stage bringing together themes central to both the museum and the Pride community: community, diversity, and the power of art. Sirkka aims to create an open, warm, and inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
Opera singer Sam Taskinen and pianist Aleksei Zaitsev
Sam Taskinen is a bass-baritone from Lappeenranta who has built an international career over the past decade, performing at the Finnish National Opera, on concert stages, and in opera houses around the world.
Pianist Aleksei Zaitsev, originally from North Karelia, is an award-winning musician known for his intensity and sensitivity, with strengths ranging from classical piano performance to bold explorations combining different art forms.
At EMMA, Taskinen and Zaitsev will perform Wotan’s aria Abendlich strahlt der Sonne Auge from Richard Wagner’s Das Rheingold, as well as Jean Sibelius’s Svarta rosor, Op. 36.
Vamp Master Brown
Vamp Master Brown is a Drag King persona created by body philosopher Vishnu Vardhani Rajan. Established in 2019, the character concerns itself with the “politics of love and proper.” In A DRAG SHOW – Sanna Marin Special, Vamp Master Brown dissects their parasocial devotion to Sanna Marin not as mere fandom, but as colonial longing dressed in hope. This is mythopoetic drag as critical autobiography, using real obsession to examine the collective fantasy of the progressive white savior.
Pride Is Protest workshop
A guided workshop where participants create statement posters inspired by the spirit of Pride.
Jossu Reflects Upon Art
Jossu, a non-binary bimbo and the alter ego of visual artist Otto Rummukainen, has appeared in comics and performances alike. Jossu Reflects Upon Art stems from Jossu’s desire to better understand their own emotions – and what better way than engaging in dialogue with art! While Jossu’s dilemmas are often solved with beer and cigarettes, this time visual art also plays a role. Jossu poses candid, life-flavoured questions both to themselves and the audience. Alongside art, the tour touches on all sorts of topics, such as the perfect lipstick for a date at an art museum.
High heels race
EMMA Director Krist Gruijthuijsen has challenged fashion designer Antrea Kantakoski to a race! The twist is that the competition is run in high heels. Come and cheer them on in this thrilling contest!
Queer schlager orchestra Harhavietti
One of the hottest new acts on Finland’s schlager scene is ready to set hearts fluttering and feet tapping! The band’s repertoire blends cover versions of cherished schlager classics – melodic melancholy, wistful favourites, and playful irony—something both comfortingly familiar and distinctly their own.
The six-member ensemble features Sara Puljula (bass), Roosa-Maria (keys), Tyrsky Jalava (guitar), Mira Eskelinen (rhythm), and vocalists Aleksi Kolmonen and Orion Ukonhattu. The performance begins with a 20-minute dance lesson for those who wish to join.
