Baltic Circle culminates in an evening full of hazy atmosphere, supernaturally good music and joy. DJs Trabelsi and Miša Skalaskis are responsible for the evening’s music sets .

Meriam Trabelsi is an artist, DJ and MC from Helsinki, known for the Pehmee collective and one of the leaders of the popular Club U-Haul. Trabelsi is an advocate of BIPOC-queer freedom and joy and strong beats, playing SWANA-sounding club music, remixes of Arabic classic songs, amapiano, house and afro-life, among other things. Trabels, who has been gigging at a busy pace in recent years, has been heard this summer in places like Ruisrock, Ääniwall and Tanner. For the Tunisian-Finnish DJ, playing the SWANA sound also means presenting one’s own cultural heritage and rediscovering one’s own childhood sounds and songs.

Miša Skalskis (Lithuania) is a visual and sound artist from Lithuania living in Helsinki. Rumor has it that a techno-house spider bit him in his childhood, and he’s been trying to resist its influence ever since, with little success. In his previous interview, he said something like this: “This season I’m really focusing on my skill. My goal? Become the second best DJ in town. I want to keep my goals realistic.” But in all seriousness, Misha’s sets are fun and wildly eclectic, so it’s a little hard to know what to expect.
