Joel Karppanen has moved from the countryside and industrial city to the metropolis. His new exhibition deals with a Helsinki in transition, where the current working class is represented by food deliverymen. Karppanen worked as a food courier for a month and wrote a documentary essay on the subject. The photographs are a new perspective on Helsinki. Their declarative sociality intertwines seamlessly with an aesthetic that subtly condenses the city’s atmosphere.
