An explorative workshop to rediscover and document the “invisible”. We will film and photograph in groups to improve our skills in art documentation/storytelling and review some concepts.
Programme:
12h Intro workshop and participants (45 min)
How to document artwork?: tools, framing, lighting, meaning + examples
12:45h Practical exercise taking photographs, working in groups + session of feedback afterwards (45 min)
13:30h Lunch Break (30 min)
14h Telling your story: video documenting an art piece (30min)
14:30h Practical exercise: filming + editing (1h 30min)
16h Screening + final conclusions (30min)
* Materials to bring: camera (DSLR, mobile) +preferably laptop with an editing program (adobe premiere, da Vinci…) but if not, no worries, we will have one or two to share.
Previous knowledge: not needed, just bring your curiosity.
Tutor Biography:
Támara Aalto is a filmmaker from Zaragoza, Spain based in Finland. Her training includes film workshops and intensive courses in different cities abroad and various roles on film sets. She has been the Artistic Director of Cinemaissí Latin American Film Festival Helsinki since 2021 and also, works as a videographer for Catalysti, association of transcultural artists in Finland. In 2022, she worked for Koulukino (School Cinema Association) designing and giving filmmaking classes to Primary and Secondary School kids. Her work focuses on feminism, identity and social equity.
