Tapio Sinisalo’s upcoming exhibition deals with shame, shamelessness, and finding one’s self. By exaggerating actions and events, the artist takes stand on issues he believes in. In order for Sinisalo’s works to resonate with the viewers, the artist approaches the theme of his exhibition with a twinkle in his eye. Sinisalo’s work is fueled by a will to provoke discussion about our shared life, in which there are no final answers. As materials for his works, Sinisalo uses bronze, steel and objects.

Tapio Sinisalo has studied at the Eesti Riiklik Kunstiinsituut in Tallinn between 1981-83. Based in Kotka, the artist has participated in group exhibitions since 1976 and held solo exhibitions since 1980. Sinisalo’s works have been exhibited in Finland, Germany, Spain, Russia and Estonia. His works are in the collections of the City of Kouvola, South Karelia and Imatra Art Museums, the City of Kotka, and the City of Tallinn. Sinisalo is a member of the Association of Finnish Sculptors and Kotka Artists’ Association.

The exhibition has been supported by the City of Kotka and the Arts Promotion Centre Finland.
