The connection is a media art installation at the intersection of art and technology that responds to the viewer’s breath. It offers its experiencer a unique way of influencing the content of a work, which in turn raises questions about, for example, the concept of authorship. In the work, authorship also overlaps with questions of remembering and memory. Alongside the work, one can reflect on how our memories always change a little differently when we recall them. Memories eventually turn into stories that we tell about ourselves to ourselves.
So remembering is always also an imagination that involves both physicality and space.

{TES} is a media art group consisting of Tea Söderlund, Eetu Henttonen and Sami Luusalo. The group’s interactive works create space and an opportunity for the experiencer to explore the meanings of the interaction. Combining sculptural elements, sound, moving image and new technologies, the works take shape again and again for each viewer, forming both concrete and symbolic connections between digital and physical reality. In works dealing with superhuman themes, observation, presence, and action are equated with our interactions with our environment. Central to the works are action, event and experience, as well as the complex connections between rules and randomness.

The exhibition is supported by the Center for the Promotion of the Arts.
