On the Historic Helsinki architecture walking tour, you’ll discover what has shaped Helsinki into the city it is today. Through stories of Finnish history, key figures, and building materials and techniques, the tour introduces some of the city’s most remarkable buildings—each reflecting Helsinki’s rich past.
Join us to explore Helsinki’s architectural history beneath the surface.

The architecture walking tours are scripted by the experts of the Architecture & Design Museum Helsinki and guided by museum guides with in-depth knowledge of each theme. The tours are part of the museum’s summer 2026 programme of public architecture walking tours, taking visitors through some of Helsinki’s most fascinating neighbourhoods.

Participation
Each tour requires a separate reservation through our event platform. Tickets are paid in advance via our online store, and the registration is binding. Please show the booking confirmation email to your guide before the walk begins.

Duration: 90 minutes
Language: Tours are available in Finnish and English.

Each tour accommodates up to 25 participants. The participation fee must be paid online no later than the day before the tour. Payments are only accepted through our event platform. It is not possible to pay on site.

Tour Information
The walk begins in front of Helsinki City Hall (Pohjoisesplanadi 11–13, 00170 Helsinki) and ends at the final stop, Helsinki Central Railway Station (Kaivokatu 1, 00100 Helsinki).
The duration of the walk is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
The architecture walks are scripted by the experts of the Architecture & Design Museum Helsinki and guided by museum guides with in-depth knowledge of each theme.
