The exhibition is a continuation of Toarie Strandman’s latest exhibitions, studying the themes of alien lifeforms, post human futures and unknown evolutionary paths. Scientific research supporting queer ecological views, such as quantum entanglement, inspire the work.

Entropy scatters energy into chaos – life connects energy into intertwined entities. All living is in a constant vibration, trying to vibrate in the same pace, connect, communicate and form symbiosis. It imagines alien lifeforms emerging from melting permafrost or outer space, and accidentally created mirror lifeforms changing life as we know it. Mirror life is a term in biotechnology that refers to lifeforms with reversed DNA, created either accidentally or on purpose. The exhibition features sculptures created mostly from biomaterials that Strandman has developed through material research.

Toarie Strandman is a visual artist working in the intersection of bio art, sculpture and textile handcraft methods. Their art is defined by intertwined studies of science and occultism, queer-ecology and sci-fi inspired visions. It combines bio- and textile art into biodegradable sculptures and installations. The art pieces form queer solar punk utopias and alien entities hanging in their nests, dreaming of post human societies. At the moment Strandman is studying in the MFA program of sculpture in Academy of Fine Arts.
