30.10.–22.11.2026

Tuomo Saali draws the viewer into the landscape in a way that expands beyond its traditional meanings. It becomes a kind of meta-image: a mental picture of what we understand a landscape, or a landscape painting, to be. Even a small landscape appears in his paintings as a whole world.

Tuomo Saali graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in the 1980s. He has held numerous solo exhibitions, and his works are included in more than thirty public collections, including Kiasma and HAM. Far Reaches of the World is Tuomo Saali’s second exhibition at Galleria Halmetoja.

A book presenting Tuomo Saali’s paintings from the 2000s will be published at the opening. The book is part of Galleria Halmetoja’s publication series and can be purchased at the opening 29 October, signed by the artist.
