In Juha Vanonen’s minimalistic abstract paintings, spontaneous and thought-out paint traces are mixed. The paintings in the exhibition are made up of small elements that create a space of their own. They take the viewer far from the presenting conventions and verbal explanations. Some parts seem carefully painted in place, while others are scattered here and there, creating a dynamic and living whole. According to the name of the exhibition, sailing towards the moon.

Juha Vanonen (b. 1980) lives and works in Helsinki. He graduated as a visual artist from Tampere Academy of Fine Arts in 2006. He has had several solo exhibitions. His works are in numerous private collections and e.g. in the collections of the State Works Commission.
