Opening MUU Matinee’s autumn semester, MUU Helsinki Contemporary Art Centre is honored to host a special event of live improvisation and talks on Argentine synth music, as forward-thinking analog traditionalists Klauss visit Helsinki for performances and workshops at select venues (we recommend you also check Club Kaiku’s programming!).

In addition to performing a concert, the current trio line-up of Lucas Romeo (guitar and electronics), Pablo Gil (live mix and electronics) and founding member Ernesto Romeo (synthesizers) will sit down to give insight on the history of the band and electronic music in Argentina, in a conversation with Argentine-born Helsinki producer, event curator and DJ Pedro MacLoughlin.

Klauss

Argentine project Klauss, founded in 1988, explores the expressive possibilities of different languages in contemporary electronic, electroacoustic and progressive music. By combining minimalist and polymetric sequences, dance rhythms, impressionist harmonies, free forms, noise, atonalism and psychedelia through real-time composition procedures, the group’s sound aesthetics come to life in dreamlike environments, danceable rituals, acoustic landscapes, and symphonic textures.
