Kristin Wiking is a gatherer of sensations, working with confusion, humor, misfortune, and misunderstanding. Her research lies in the simple, immediate, and direct act of doing. In these endeavors, the results flow in unsuspected ways.

At MUU Helsinki Contemporary Art Centre, Wiking presents, among other things, cut-out fabric horses, glued directly onto the walls, displayed alongside a mechanical TV armchair and a washing machine—an ongoing movement that undermines fixed categories and assigned attributes. Gallop gallop.

Kristin Wiking is based in Helsinki and Vilnius and works with a range of media, including kinetic sculpture, installation, and video. She has recently had solo exhibitions at Billytown, The Hague, Netherlands (2024); Sculptor Gallery, Helsinki (2022); Porvoo Taidehalli, Porvoo (2021); Titanik, Turku (2020); and Sinne Gallery, Helsinki (2017). Her work has been shown in group exhibitions in Finland, Belgium, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and Great Britain. During 2022–2023, she was an artist-in-residence at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

The exhibition has received support from
