Cacophony, chaos and uncertainty erupts around us. Calmness appears in the closeness while the surrounding distorts the perspective of the moment. We focus on two people and what unfolds between them.

’Before it all evaporates…’ is a dance piece created in collaboration with dancer-choreographer duo Olli Lautiola and Anette Toiviainen. The duet plays, experiments, stumbles and searches for harmony. Presence, empathy and trust emerge as central themes. What is to encounter?

The piece suggests to stay with the present moment.

Anette Toiviainen

Anette Toiviainen is a dancer and dance artist. She holds a Master’s degree in Dance from the Theatre Academy and previously studied dance in Stockholm, Vienna and Copenhagen. Anette has worked with, among others, Tero Saarinen Company, Imre & Marne Van Opstal, and Johanna Nuutinen. In 2023, she was one of the artists featured in the Amos Rex Generation23 exhibition.

Olli Lautiola

Olli Lautiola is a Helsinki-based dancer, choreographer, sound designer and dance teacher. He graduated from Stockholm University of the Arts in 2017. Olli has worked extensively in the field of contemporary dance with numerous companies and choreographers, both as a performer and a sound designer. Most recently, he has worked with, among others, Tero Saarinen Company, Routa Company and Carl Knif Company.
